Trial Operation of Two Smart Bus Stops Launched in Phnom Penh

PHNOM PENH: On Tuesday afternoon, 20 December 2022, the Phnom Penh Deputy Governor, Nuon Pharath, along with experts from Japan, reviewed the pilot installation of the Smart Bus Shelter project.

The pilot installation of these smart bus stops are in two locations: one in front of Preah Ang Duong Hospital and another in front of Preah Sisowath High School. Both stops are located on Norodom Boulevard.

The Phnom Penh Deputy Governor said that this project will contribute to facilitating people using public transport through the installation of smart equipment, including security cameras, solar lights, and LED panels to indicate the location of the next arriving bus and the estimated time it will take to arrive at the station.

The Deputy Governor confirmed that this project is being conducted under the ASEAN-Japan Smart Cities Cooperation.
